As I mentioned in last article indicating the importance of finding your own niche market, you have realized that the right niche market is the base to your successful business. However, how can we find our own niche market for us to make money? The ideal niche market for you must meet the following requirements: 1) You are passionate about it and great at it; 2) There are sufficient demand in the market and 3) There are not so many competitors in the market.
1. You need to know what are your strengths.
Remember that I asked you to understand yourself before you set up your online business? Yes, this is the first step for you to find your niche market. Please choose the niche market from the fields that you are great at or you are interesting in. Why? It is because this is the easiest way for you to work and make money from it.
Take myself for example. I have learned a certain foreign language for my second language. I consider this as my advantage and there must be someone who need translation service. Therefore, I set up my translation studio online and find clients from Internet. So far, I can make 500+ dollars from it every month.
You must have some special strengths and you can make money from it. You can make a list of skills you master or things you are interested and then you may find some potential business opportunities.
2. Assess the demand of your product or service
Sufficient demand means you have enough potential customers who want to buy your product or service. You can only make money by fulfilling your customers'' certain demand. A large quantilty demanded by your costomers will enable you have more chances to make more money.
You can assess the demand in your niche market by using keyword analysis. Generally, the more people search the relevant keywords, the more demands are there in your niche market. The most used keyword tools are list below:
Google Keyword Tool
Google Trends
Wordtracker FREE keyword suggestion tool
With these tools, you can estimate and compare how many times the keywords have been searched before, so that you can find and choose the most promising niche market. Of course, this is not the only way to assess the demand quantity, but it is really helpful.
3. Research the competitors in your niche market
If there are too many competitors in the market, you need to work harder to stand out. The market with relatively fewer competitions will allow you to make money easier. To research your competitors, you can also use Yahoo and Google and some other tools. Searching in Yahoo! Stores will enable you to find how many products are listed in how many stores; if there are too many search results in Google, that is means there are hot competitions in the market.
In the other hand, it is impossible to find a niche market with no competitors while still has large demand. So don''t make the mistake to try finding a market with zero competitor. You will find the niche market with high demand and high supply is more profitable that the market with low demand and low supply. Don''t afaid of healthy competition. We just want not to enter a over saturated market.
Synthetically think over these 3 factors above, and choose the best fit one from your list. This niche market will be well run and provide amazing profit for you.
